About
Rock Creek Campground occupies a quintessential Oregon Coast location within Siuslaw National Forest, where towering spruce and Douglas fir trees create a dense canopy overhead while ferns carpet the forest floor. The campground's 15 sites are arranged along Rock Creek, offering a peaceful streamside setting with the constant soundtrack of flowing water. The moss-draped branches and verdant understory give the area a temperate rainforest character that defines this stretch of coastline. The Pacific Ocean beach and a day-use parking area lie within half a mile of the campground, making it an ideal base for beachcombing, tide pooling, and coastal exploration. Anglers appreciate the fishing opportunities for cutthroat trout and salmon in Rock Creek. The Cape Perpetua Visitor Center and Scenic Area, located just a few miles north, provides additional hiking trails and spectacular ocean viewpoints. Birders will find diverse species in the transition zone between forest and coast.
Directions
From Florence, Oregon, drive 14 miles north on Highway 101. The campground is on the east side of the highway, 10 miles south of Yachats.
