Ashley National Forest Order 050115A1 regarding:  Closure of Fishing from Concrete Boat Ramps on Flaming Gorge Reservoir

About

Jarvies Boat-in Group Campground is located on beautiful Flaming Gorge Reservoir in Jarvies Canyon at an elevation of 6,040 feet within the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area on Ashley National Forest. This boat-access only facility is reached via a 20-minute boat ride from Cedar Springs Marina or Mustang Ridge Marina. The campground sits among dense stands of juniper and pinyon pine on a hillside overlooking the reservoir, offering expansive views of the water and surrounding red cliffs. The spacious group site accommodates up to 40 people and features a large picnic shelter, picnic tables, two campfire rings, two grills, and three tent pads. A private dock is located down a short hill on the shoreline, though the path does not meet accessibility standards. One vault toilet is provided, but campers must bring their own drinking water as none is available on-site. Trash service is not provided; all garbage must be packed out. The reservoir offers excellent opportunities for boating, water skiing, fishing, and swimming. A hiking trail passes through the site for those wanting to explore the surrounding landscape. Firewood can be purchased at Cedar Springs or Deer Run. Campers with proof of registration can access showers at Deer Run and Mustang Ridge. Nearby Flaming Gorge Dam offers guided tours of the hydroelectric plant, and the Green River below provides spectacular rafting through unique geology and Native American rock art sites.
