Ashley National Forest Order 050115A1 regarding: Closure of Fishing from Concrete Boat Ramps on Flaming Gorge Reservoir
About
Antelope Flat Campground lies on the shores of beautiful Flaming Gorge Reservoir at 6,000 feet elevation within the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area. The campground offers 50 sites including family sites and 4 group sites with picnic shelters. Family sites feature cabanas, picnic tables, and campfire rings, with some including grills. The rolling, sagebrush-covered landscape is dotted with Russian olive trees and cottonwoods, though shade is limited. The campground provides flush toilets, potable drinking water (available mid-May through mid-September), and an on-site dump station. A boat ramp provides direct reservoir access for boating, water skiing, jet skiing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, and scuba diving. Flaming Gorge is renowned for world-class fishing for lake, brown, and rainbow trout. Nearby attractions include Flaming Gorge Dam, which offers guided tours of the working hydroelectric plant and a visitor center with area history exhibits. The Green River below the dam provides spectacular rafting opportunities with unique geology, outlaw history, and Native American rock art.
