About
Antelope Flat Campground lies on the shores of the beautiful Flaming Gorge Reservoir at an elevation of 6,000 feet within the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area on the Ashley National Forest. The campground features 46 family sites and 4 group sites spread across rolling, sagebrush-covered terrain. Russian olive trees and cottonwoods provide limited shade, while nearly every site offers scenic views of the reservoir and surrounding mountains. Each family site includes a cabana, picnic table, and campfire ring, with some sites offering grills. The four group sites each feature a picnic shelter, tables, campfire ring, grills, and tent pads. Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area is known not only for its stunning red cliffs but also for world-class fishing for lake, brown, and rainbow trout. The on-site boat ramp provides direct access to the reservoir for boating, water skiing, jet skiing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, and scuba diving. The campground is accessed via a well-maintained gravel road and offers flush toilets, drinking water during the operating season, and a dump station. Nearby attractions include Flaming Gorge Dam with guided tours of the hydroelectric plant and visitor center, as well as spectacular rafting opportunities on the Green River below the dam featuring unique geology, outlaw history, and Native American rock art.
