Greendale Campground is a serene and intimate campsite nestled within the stunning Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area, part of the Ashley National Forest at 6,900 feet elevation. A forest of towering ponderosa pines provides partial shade over the campground, while grasses and vibrant summer wildflowers create a picturesque setting beneath. The area experiences warm days and cool nights, with crisp mountain air and the possibility of sudden weather changes. Beautiful Flaming Gorge Reservoir is less than 5 miles from the campground, offering world-class fishing for lake, brown, and rainbow trout. The reservoir provides exciting recreational opportunities including boating, water skiing, jet skiing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, and scuba diving. Cedar Springs Marina is conveniently located 3.5 miles from the campground. Bear Canyon Trail, an easy 3-mile round-trip trail beginning a mile away, offers hiking and biking opportunities with stunning views of Red Canyon and Flaming Gorge Reservoir. The campground provides vault toilets and trash collection. While potable water is not currently available on-site due to waterline replacement, dump stations are available for a fee at nearby Antelope Flat, Deer Run, Firefighters Memorial, and Lodgepole campgrounds. Showers are accessible at Deer Run and Mustang Ridge for campers with proof of registration, and firewood can be purchased at nearby Firefighters Campground. The Red Canyon Visitor Center and Flaming Gorge Dam are popular nearby attractions, with the dam offering guided tours and the Green River below providing spectacular rafting opportunities.

Directions

Take Highway 191 north 45 miles from Vernal, Utah. From Manila, Utah take Highway 44 for 28 miles, turn left on Highway 191 and travel approximately 2 miles north. Approximately 75 miles south on Highway 191 from Rock Springs, Wyoming.
