Alcohol Prohibitions

This Order describes acts that are prohibited upon lands, roads and trails within the National Forest System administered by the Forest Service Pacific Northwest Region in regards to alcoholic beverages.

About

Canton Creek Campground is a small, intimate campground with five campsites situated along the banks of Steamboat Creek near its confluence with the Wild and Scenic North Umpqua River. Despite its compact size, the campground offers big outdoor recreation opportunities and is easily accessible for quick weekend getaways. A pavilion makes it an ideal destination for small groups and day use activities. The campground is in a prime location for diverse outdoor activities including hiking, mountain biking, fly fishing, and whitewater rafting. The popular 79-mile North Umpqua Trail, with multiple trailheads in the vicinity, offers hikers and bikers of all abilities the opportunity to explore the stunning landscapes of the Umpqua National Forest. Anglers can fly fish in the renowned Wild and Scenic North Umpqua River, known for its world-class fishery. Campers can also cool off in the pristine waters of Steamboat Creek, which is easily accessed directly from the campground. Located near Forest Road 38 and County Road 23, Canton Creek provides access to northern parts of the Umpqua National Forest and the Rogue-Umpqua National Scenic Byway. The surrounding area showcases the unique volcanic landscapes of southwestern Oregon, with diverse ecosystems supporting abundant wildlife. The campground is operated by a concessionaire under permit from the Umpqua National Forest. Note that no garbage services are provided, so campers must be prepared to pack out all trash.

Directions

From Roseburg, travel east on OR-138 (North Umpqua Highway) for 39 miles to Steamboat Creek Road (Forest Road 38) and turn left. Canton Creek Campground is 0.25 mile on the right.
