About
Horseshoe Bend Campground occupies a shaded grove of old-growth Douglas fir and sugar pine along the Wild & Scenic North Umpqua River in Oregon's Umpqua National Forest. The 23 paved campsites are split between two loops (Beaver and Otter), each equipped with a fire ring, picnic table, and some with barbecue grills. Flush toilets with hand-washing sinks and potable water are provided. A campground host is on-site during the operating season. The North Umpqua River is renowned for world-class salmon and steelhead fly fishing, and the adjacent boat launch provides non-motorized river access for rafters and kayakers. The 79-mile North Umpqua National Recreation Trail runs nearby, offering hiking and mountain biking opportunities through lush forests, rocky bluffs, and river vistas. Several trailheads are accessible from the campground vicinity. Crater Lake National Park lies within driving distance, and the Rogue-Umpqua National Scenic Byway passes through the area, showcasing 172 miles of diverse river and mountain landscapes. Quiet hours are enforced from 10 PM to 6 AM, and the maximum stay is 14 consecutive nights.
