About

Cabin Creek Campground is a scenic first-come, first-served destination in Payette National Forest's West Mountains, located along the Middle Fork of the Weiser River. A waterfall within the campground adds to its appeal. The campground is divided into two loops: the north loop contains 12 standard campsites with potable water available via hand pump, while the south loop offers 6 equestrian-themed sites complete with hitching posts and a corral, though any visitor may use them. Recreation opportunities abound in the area. Anglers can fish the West Fork of the Weiser River, while the adjacent Council Mountain Trail (No. 198) provides access for hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, and motorcycle riding. The Bear Gap ATV Trail (No. 209), located southeast of the campground, accommodates vehicles up to 50 inches wide and is open to motorized use from May 15 through September 30. Be mindful of private land boundaries interspersed with public lands in this area.
