About

Evergreen Campground is situated along the Weiser River just off Highway 95, approximately 14 miles north of Council and 12 miles southwest of New Meadows, Idaho. Set in a scenic Douglas fir and spruce forest at roughly 4,000 feet elevation, the campground offers a peaceful retreat despite its highway-adjacent location, with large trees and dense brush providing seclusion and privacy. The campground features 12 total sites with paved pads, including 5 sites that can be reserved through Recreation.gov and 7 first-come, first-served sites. All sites include picnic tables and grills. The Weiser River flows between the campsites and the highway, offering excellent rainbow trout fishing opportunities. The popular Weiser River Trail can be accessed directly from the campground for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Facilities include vault toilets and a hand pump for drinking water during the operating season. Sites are available as single sites for $10 per night or double sites for $15 per night. The campground operates seasonally from mid-May through mid-September, depending on snow levels. Check-in is at 2:00 p.m. and check-out is at 11:00 a.m. There are no hookups available, and the campground is not accessible to horses or pack animals. The site features a paved access road with a gravel road system throughout the campground.

Directions

From Council, Idaho, follow Highway 95 north approximately 14 miles to the campground. From New Meadows, travel 12 miles southwest on Highway 95. The campground is on the east side of the highway.
