About

Lake Cascade State Park is situated along 86 miles of shoreline on Lake Cascade in the majestic mountains of southwest Idaho, 75 miles north of Boise. The park provides diverse four-season recreational opportunities with 279 individual campsites in 10 developed campgrounds, two dispersed primitive camping areas, group camping options, and six boat launch ramps. Campsites range from primitive tent sites to fully serviced RV sites with water, electric, and sewer hookups available at Poison Creek and Ridgeview campgrounds. The campgrounds include Blue Heron, Buttercup, Cabarton, Crown Point, Huckleberry, Poison Creek, Sugarloaf, Van Wyck, Curlew, West Mountain North, and West Mountain South. Seven ADA-accessible campsites are available throughout the park. During summer months, most campgrounds require reservations, while Van Wyck, Blue Heron, and Curlew remain first-come, first-served year-round. The park offers excellent access to Lake Cascade's crystal-clear waters for boating, sailing, windsurfing, fishing for rainbow trout, perch, coho salmon, and smallmouth bass. Nearby, the North Fork of the Payette River provides world-class whitewater rafting. Additional amenities include a new visitors center with retail store, kayak and paddleboard rentals at Van Wyck, dump stations, showers at select campgrounds, wifi hotspots at Ridgeview and Poison Creek, and interpretive programs.
