About

Ponderosa State Park occupies a forested peninsula surrounded by the clear waters of Payette Lake in Idaho's west-central mountains. The park is named for its towering ponderosa pines and serves as a year-round recreation hub for the McCall area. Campgrounds are spread across multiple loops offering a mix of serviced RV sites with electric hookups, standard tent sites, and full hook-up spots with water and sewer. Facilities include modern restrooms with flush toilets and hot showers, drinking water throughout the campgrounds, a dump station, fire rings, and picnic areas. Nine deluxe cabins (two ADA-accessible) feature full kitchens, bedding, and lake views, while the Fawn camper cabin offers a more rustic option. ADA-accessible campsites, restrooms, and trails are available throughout the park. Beyond camping, Ponderosa offers swimming beaches, a boat ramp, over 20 miles of trails for hiking and mountain biking, and winter Nordic skiing. The park's Osprey Point and Meadow Marsh areas provide excellent wildlife viewing for osprey, eagles, deer, and foxes.
