About

Lost Creek Group Campground sits at 5,700 feet elevation in a pleasant atmosphere dominated by large ponderosa pines, approximately five miles south of Manzanita Lake on the main park highway. The campground contains 8 group sites, all available by reservation only through Recreation.gov. Each group site is designed for 10-25 people and up to 6 vehicles or one bus/RV, equipped with three picnic tables, three fire grates, and three metal food storage lockers. The campground offers convenient access to Manzanita Lake's fishing and kayaking opportunities, as well as the Devastated and Summit Lake areas. Located on the main park road, campers have easy access to hiking trails, the general store, coin-operated showers, and other amenities. The Loomis Museum and educational programs are within a short drive. Lassen Volcanic National Park is known for its volcanic history and diverse ecosystems at the junction of the Cascade Mountains, Sierra Nevada Mountains, and Great Basin. The park contains 300 active volcanic domes, hydrothermal features like mud pots and steam vents, over 700 species of flowering plants, and 250 species of vertebrates. Note that some facilities and areas remain closed following the 2021 Dixie Fire, and hazards like fallen trees and loose rock may exist in reopened areas.
