About
Bobcat Lake Campground is situated in Gogebic County in the southern half of Ottawa National Forest, just 3 miles southeast of Marenisco in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. This intimate campground features a single loop with 11 drive-in campsites, each offering excellent privacy thanks to natural vegetation between sites. Each site includes a tent pad, picnic table, fire ring, lantern post, and gravel parking spur.
The campground provides vault toilets and drinking water via a hand pump centrally located in the loop. An adjacent day use area, located half a mile east of the campground along the shore of Bobcat Lake, offers additional amenities including vault toilets, picnic tables, grills, and a changing house. A boat ramp next to the campground provides access to the medium-sized lake, which is popular for fishing northern pike, bass, crappie, and bluegill, as well as swimming and paddling.
Bobcat Lake Campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. The lightly-used facility offers a quiet retreat with opportunities for fishing, boating, swimming, and relaxation in a forested setting. The campground is accessible via Forest Road 8500 and is located approximately 30 miles east of Ironwood.
