Bobcat Lake Camp

Bobcat Lake Campground sits on a medium-sized lake just 3 miles southeast of Marenisco in the southern half of Ottawa National Forest. The single-loop campground contains 11 drive-in sites, each equipped with a tent pad, wood picnic table, fire ring, lantern post, and gravel parking spur. Site 2 is accessible with an adapted table and fire ring. Drinking water comes from a hand pump near site #3, and two accessible vault toilets are located within the loop. The lake provides quality fishing opportunities for northern pike, largemouth bass, crappie, and bluegill. A boat ramp adjacent to the campground accommodates small watercraft. About half a mile east, a day use area features a sandy swimming beach, additional picnic facilities, and vault toilets. This is a first-come, first-served campground with no advance reservations. Payment can be made on-site via the Recreation.gov mobile app's Scan and Pay feature. Maximum stay is 14 days, with a limit of 8 people and 2 motorized vehicles per site. Generators are prohibited between 10pm and 6am.

Directions

From Bessemer, travel east on US 2 approximately 19 miles, turn right onto Fair Avenue and travel approximately 1 mile to M-64, turn left onto M-64 and travel approximately 0.5 mile to FR 8500, turn right onto FR 8500 and travel approximately 2 miles to the campground. From Watersmeet, travel west on US 2 approximately 24 miles, turn left onto M-64 and travel approximately 2 miles to FR 8500, turn left onto FR 8500 and travel approximately 2 miles to the campground.
