About
Langford Lake Boat Launch is a remote recreation site situated in the Bessemer Ranger District of Ottawa National Forest, approximately 11 miles southeast of Marenisco, Michigan. This rustic facility serves primarily as a boat launch for accessing Langford Lake, with primitive camping opportunities available for visitors seeking solitude in the Upper Peninsula backcountry. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservation system. Facilities are minimal by design, reflecting the primitive nature of the site. Campers should come prepared with their own water supply, as no potable water is available on-site. Restroom facilities are limited or closed seasonally. The remote location, accessed via a series of county and forest roads, provides an authentic wilderness camping experience away from developed amenities. Langford Lake offers fishing opportunities, and the surrounding Ottawa National Forest provides access to thousands of acres of public land for hiking, wildlife viewing, and outdoor exploration. The site is maintained for winter access, with the Forest Service plowing the area to allow year-round recreation opportunities. Visitors should be self-sufficient and prepared for primitive conditions.
