Blue Spring Campground is located within a bend of the Jacks Fork River in Ozark National Scenic Riverways, about 15 minutes from Mountain View, Missouri. This backcountry campground offers a more primitive camping experience with seven sites total, including one reservable site and six first-come-first-served sites. The campground provides vault toilets year-round but has no water or shower facilities, so visitors must bring their own drinking water.
The location is popular throughout the year for different reasons. During summer months, the Jacks Fork River provides opportunities for freshwater floating, swimming, and fishing. In fall and winter, visitors can enjoy brilliant fall colors and views of the area's large bluffs. The campground accommodates RVs and trailers as specified in park regulations, and each site includes a designated fire ring.
Access to Blue Spring Campground requires driving on gravel roads for about 2 miles. From Mountain View, take Highway 60 east for 3 miles, turn left onto Highway OO and drive north for 2.5 miles, then turn left onto County Road OO-493 and follow it for about 2 miles to the campground. Note that Blue Spring Campground should not be confused with Blue Spring on the Current River east of Eminence, where camping is not offered.
Directions
From Mountain View, drive east on Highway 60 for 3 miles. Turn left onto Highway OO and drive north for about 2.5 miles. Turn left onto County Road OO-493 and follow the main path for about 2 miles to the campground. The final 2 miles are on gravel roads.
