About
Bachers Campground is a primitive backcountry camping area located on the Jacks Fork River, just downriver from Blue Spring. The campground is known for its deep, blue swimming holes that invite campers to cool off during warm weather. Impressive limestone bluffs tower over the river, creating a dramatic landscape typical of the Ozarks.
About 1 mile downstream from the campground, Jam Up Cave draws summertime floaters and explorers. The entire area provides excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing, with fall offering particularly beautiful foliage. The campground serves as a great base for camping, floating, fishing, and exploring the natural beauty of the Ozark National Scenic Riverways.
Access to Bachers requires traveling 3 miles on gravel roads, and high clearance vehicles are recommended. The campground offers basic amenities with vault toilets available year-round, but campers must bring their own water as none is available on-site.
