Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Deep moisture will continue to support thunderstorms with heavy rainfall across the watch area through Monday evening, particularly during the afternoon and evening. About
Big Springs Dispersed Camping Area sits in scenic Oak Creek Canyon within the Fishlake National Forest, offering a primitive camping experience with some basic amenities. The area features four established dispersed sites, three on the north side of the road and one on the south, each equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. A vault toilet serves the area, but no potable water is available. This free, first-come first-served camping area is best suited for tent camping and small vehicles. The narrow canyon road does not accommodate trailers as there is no space to turn around. Parking is limited to two vehicles per site. Campers must bring their own firewood (no cutting of branches permitted) and pack out all trash following Leave No Trace principles. Quiet hours are enforced from 10 pm to 6 am. Pets are welcome but must remain leashed at all times. Firearms and fireworks are prohibited. OHVs may only be used for accessing trails and must be registered.
Directions
From Oak City, turn east on Center Street for 0.2 miles, then turn left onto Oak Creek Canyon Road (Forest Road 089) and travel approximately 4.7 miles to the camping area.
