About

Cottonwood Campground is a no-fee, first-come, first-served campground located along the scenic Nebo Loop Scenic Byway in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. The campground sits approximately 8 miles from Nephi at an elevation of 6,545 feet, surrounded by cottonwood and maple trees with a stream running nearby. The campground offers 18 campsites with gravel roads and spurs throughout. This primitive campground provides vault toilets but has no drinking water available, so visitors must bring their own water supply. The campground is managed by the Spanish Fork Ranger District and operates seasonally, typically from late spring through fall. Access is via the Nebo Loop Scenic Byway, which is closed in winter due to heavy snow from late October through June or July. The campground has a 7-day stay limit.

Directions

From I-15 at Nephi, take Exit 225 and travel east on Highway 132 for approximately 5 miles. Turn left onto Forest Road 015 (Nebo Loop Scenic Byway) and continue for approximately 3 miles to reach the campground.
