About

Pine Glen Group Campground sits within Inyo National Forest at 7,800 feet elevation, surrounded by a mature canopy of Jeffrey pine trees. Located at the end of New Shady Rest Campground, the facility is within walking distance of the full-service community of Mammoth Lakes, making it a popular choice for large families and groups seeking both wilderness and convenience. The campground features nine group sites arranged in a single loop, with sites accommodating either 15 or 30 people. Each site includes bear-proof lockers, picnic tables, and fire rings. Flush toilets and potable water from hand pumps are available throughout the campground. This is an active bear area, and all food and scented items must be stored in the provided bear boxes. The Mammoth Lakes area offers exceptional outdoor recreation opportunities. Hikers, mountain bikers, and off-road vehicle enthusiasts are drawn to the majestic scenery and challenging trails of the eastern Sierras. Anglers can access world-class trout fishing in nearby creeks and lakes. A paved walking and bicycling trail connects the campground to adjacent campgrounds, Shady Rest Town Park, and the town of Mammoth Lakes. Popular day trips include Yosemite National Park, Mono Basin, and Devils Postpile National Monument.
