About

Bald Mountain Springs Campground is a dispersed camping area situated at 8,240 feet elevation in the Inyo National Forest, near the Bald Mountain lookout area. This primitive, no-fee campground provides a rustic camping experience in a high-elevation setting accessed via Bald Mountain Road off Highway 120. The area features natural springs and serves as a base for exploring the surrounding trails and scenic mountain terrain. As a dispersed camping site, visitors will find minimal developed facilities but plenty of solitude and natural beauty. The campground can accommodate RVs up to 35 feet in length, though the access road conditions should be carefully considered. The area offers opportunities for hiking and exploring the remote sections of Inyo National Forest, with the Bald Mountain fire lookout station located nearby. Campers should come prepared with all necessary supplies, including water, and be ready to practice Leave No Trace principles in this primitive setting.
