Betty and Wilbur Davis State Park is a cottage-only destination perched on hilltops in southern Otsego County, New York. The park does not offer traditional tent or RV camping; instead, it features six newly constructed full-service cottages ideal for families or groups seeking a comfortable wilderness experience. Each cottage sleeps up to 8 people and includes a bathroom with shower, full kitchen with stove, refrigerator, and microwave, plus television and DVD player. Guests must bring their own linens and towels. Outdoors, each cottage has a picnic table, charcoal grill, and fire pit. The surrounding landscape includes nearly two-thirds hardwood forest with the remainder in gently rolling meadows and two ponds offering catch-and-release fishing. Hiking trails wind through the property, and the park is a favorite among birdwatchers for its diverse habitat. Winter visitors can enjoy cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and access to snowmobile trails. Cottage reservations include access to swimming facilities at Glimmerglass State Park, located 17.6 miles away. Reservations are required and must be made in advance through ReserveAmerica; walk-up stays are not accepted. A 5-night minimum stay applies during peak season with Friday arrival and Wednesday departure. A $200 refundable security deposit is collected at check-in.
