About

Berryman Campground occupies the historic site of the Lost Creek CCC Camp (Company 3733, Camp F-MO-13), established in 1935. The CCC enrollees built over 50 miles of forest road, erected five fire lookout towers, constructed 40 miles of telephone line, and planted hundreds of thousands of trees before the camp closed. Today, the campground preserves this legacy while providing a remote retreat for outdoor enthusiasts. The campground features 8 individual campsites, each with a picnic table, fire ring, and lantern post, plus a 30-person capacity open-sided picnic pavilion available on a first-come basis. A centralized vault toilet and ADA-accessible sidewalks serve the area. There is no potable water; campers must bring their own supply and pack out all trash. The Berryman Trail departs directly from the campground, offering 24 miles of scenic Ozark terrain through timbered stands and fields. The trail accommodates hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding, with the western section connecting to the Courtois Section of the Ozark Trail. Equestrians can tie horses at designated tie-ups outside campsites.
