About

Located along the scenic Meramec River near Sullivan, Missouri, Meramec State Park provides several reservable picnic shelters for group gatherings and day use. The main picnic area contains Shelters I, II, and III with water fountains nearby, while the Overlook Pavilion sits near the Hickory Ridge Conference Center offering different views of the park. The 6,896-acre park surrounds visitors with majestic river bluffs, wooded areas, and more than 40 caves including the popular Fisher Cave. With over 13 miles of hiking trails, river access for floating and fishing, and a visitor center with aquatic exhibits, the park provides a full day of activities to complement shelter reservations. The Meramec River is home to more than half of Missouri's fish species, including largemouth and smallmouth bass, catfish, and sunfish.

Directions

Meramec State Park is located near Sullivan, Missouri, approximately 60 miles southwest of St. Louis. From I-44, take Exit 226 for MO-185 South toward Sullivan. Continue on MO-185 South for about 3 miles to reach the park entrance.
