Open

About

Meramec State Park offers four day-use picnic shelters suitable for group gatherings, family reunions, and special events. Shelter I is a historic stone structure built by the Civilian Conservation Corps featuring double fireplaces, electric outlets, timed lighting, and large group picnic tables with capacity for approximately 100 people. Shelters II and III are modern pavilion-type structures, each accommodating about 75 people with electric outlets and group picnic tables. The Overlook Pavilion offers a contemporary design with wood decking and scenic views of the river valley, holding approximately 50 people with six rearrangeable picnic tables, an electric outlet, and a small light. Shelters I, II, and III are wheelchair accessible with nearby accessible restrooms available seasonally. A vault toilet is located near Shelters II and III. These facilities are for day-use picnicking only and do not provide overnight accommodations. For overnight stays, the park offers separate campgrounds with basic through full-hookup sites, cabins, and motel rooms.
