About

Located adjacent to the Meramec River in Crawford County, Onondaga Cave State Park Campground provides 66 campsites with options for basic sites or electric/water hookups, including 50-amp electric service. The fully reservable campground features a playground, amphitheater with nature programs during the on-season, and a camp store for supplies. Frost-free water spigots are conveniently located throughout the park including near the day-use area, launch areas, and visitor center. The park's main attraction is Onondaga Cave, a National Natural Landmark featuring towering stalagmites, dripping stalactites, and active flowstones accessible via guided tours. Three hiking trails ranging from half a mile to 3.75 miles offer surface exploration opportunities, including the Vilander Bluff Natural Area with panoramic river views. The Meramec River provides excellent opportunities for canoeing, fishing for bass, catfish, and perch, and swimming in non-designated areas. Family campsites are available for those seeking extra space.
