Belle Fourche River Campground

Closed — Closed for the season. Typically operates from mid-May through mid-October. No advance reservations accepted; all sites are first-come, first-served.

About

Belle Fourche River Campground sits within Devils Tower National Monument in northeastern Wyoming, offering convenient access to one of America's most iconic geological formations. The campground features two loops with 45 total sites, including 43 pull-through sites designed to accommodate RVs and trailers up to 35 feet in length. Four sites are ADA accessible (A-2, A-4, B-11, and B-25), and three tent-only group sites can accommodate larger parties of up to 20 people. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations accepted. Mature cottonwood trees provide generous shade throughout the campground, and sites are spacious with views of Devils Tower and the surrounding Belle Fourche River Valley. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring. Drinking water is available from spigots throughout the campground and in the restrooms. A picnic area with a covered shelter and additional tables is located north of the campground for day use and overflow parking. The campground serves as an excellent base for exploring Devils Tower National Monument. Multiple trails including the Tower Trail and Red Beds Trail start near the campground amphitheater, and a prairie dog town is accessible along the trails. Evening ranger programs are offered seasonally at the campground amphitheater. The monument's visitor center is approximately one mile from the campground. A 14-day occupancy limit within a 28-day period applies.

Directions

From the entrance station, travel along the park road approximately 1 mile and turn left at the Administration Building. Stay left at the fork, and the campground is at the end of the road.
