...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS THROUGH SUNDAY ACROSS PORTIONS OF NORTHEASTERN WYOMING AND WESTERN SOUTH DAKOTA... .Warm, dry, and breezy weather will support critical fire weather conditions over northeastern Wyoming and southwestern South Dakota this afternoon and again Sunday afternoon. In addition, isolated dry thunderstorms are possible late this afternoon and evening. While confidence in timing and occurrence is low, erratic wind gusts in excess of 50 MPH would be possible if a dry thunderstorm occurs. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 316 Crook County Plains. * WINDS...Southwest 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 15 percent. * IMPACTS...The combination of gusty winds and low relative humidity will produce critical fire weather conditions.
About
Cottonwood Campground is one of 10 campgrounds at Keyhole State Park, located on the western edge of the Black Hills between Sundance and Moorcroft, Wyoming. The campground features 31-35 undeveloped campsites positioned along the southeast shore of Keyhole Reservoir, providing scenic views and water access. The Bureau of Reclamation's Keyhole Reservoir is managed by Wyoming State Parks and is known for producing some of the state's largest fish. Campsites come equipped with fire rings and picnic tables, with water hydrants available throughout the campground. Vault toilets serve the area. The campground includes two reservable group sites suitable for family reunions and gatherings. A horseshoe pit is located within the campground. The Cottonwood Trail connects headquarters through the Homestead Campground to this location, providing hiking opportunities. Keyhole State Park offers excellent fishing, boating, water skiing, swimming, bird watching, and hiking. The park is easily accessed off I-90 at exit 165, traveling north 6 miles to park headquarters. Cottonwood Campground operates on a reservation system from May 1 through September 30, and is first-come, first-served outside those dates. The park remains open for camping year-round.

From I-90, take exit 165 and travel north 6 miles. The entrance to Keyhole State Park Headquarters will be on your left. Continue to Cottonwood Campground on the southeast shore of the reservoir.
