About

Cottonwood Campground is one of ten campgrounds at Keyhole State Park, situated on the shores of Keyhole Reservoir in northeast Wyoming's Black Hills region. The campground offers 31 undeveloped campsites surrounded by pine trees, providing a more rustic camping experience compared to the park's developed areas. Each site area includes fire rings, picnic tables, and access to water hydrants scattered throughout the campground. The campground includes a playground and horseshoe pit, making it suitable for families. Two group sites are available for larger parties, along with a reservable picnic shelter equipped with lighting and electrical outlets. A trail connects Cottonwood to Homestead Campground and park headquarters. As an undeveloped campground, Cottonwood has no individual hookups, so it's best suited for tent camping or self-contained RVs. The park offers a seasonal dump station, fish cleaning station, and shower facilities elsewhere on the property. Keyhole Reservoir provides opportunities for boating, fishing, and swimming at the park's beach area.
