Keyhole State Park Homestead Campground

Open

Open year-round. Reservations required May 15 through September 15; first-come, first-served outside those dates. Seasonal amenities like showers and dump station are weather-dependent.

About

Homestead Campground sits within Keyhole State Park on the western edge of the Black Hills, easily accessible from I-90 exit 165. The park surrounds Keyhole Reservoir, offering opportunities for fishing, boating, swimming, and wildlife viewing. The campground is one of ten at Keyhole and features developed amenities including flush toilets, potable water, and trash service. The third loop of Homestead includes horse corrals at sites 44, 45, and 46 for equestrian camping. The Cottonwood Trail passes through the campground, connecting park headquarters to Cottonwood Campground. Coin-operated showers are available seasonally at the shower house near Tatanka Campground along Marina Road. A dump station operates seasonally at the park entrance. Note that Homestead does not have electric or water hookups at individual sites. Tatanka Campground is the only area at Keyhole offering hookup amenities. Day use fees apply in addition to camping fees.
