Tatanka Campground serves as Keyhole State Park's premier developed camping destination, situated on the shores of the 14,720-acre Keyhole Reservoir in Wyoming's Black Hills region. As the only campground in the park offering utility hookups, Tatanka provides 32 sites with electric and water connections, making it the preferred choice for RV campers seeking amenities. An additional 10 hookup sites are available through Keyhole Marina. The campground features vault toilets throughout and an RV dump station located at the park entrance. Water systems typically operate from May 15 through October 15, weather permitting, while electric hookups remain available year-round. A boat ramp within the campground provides direct lake access, though it lacks a dock. The park encompasses 10 campgrounds with 300 total sites, but Tatanka remains the only option for those requiring hookups. Open fires are currently prohibited at Keyhole State Park per Crook County fire restrictions. Propane grills and stoves with covers are permitted and must remain within arm's reach when lit. Pets are allowed but must be leashed at all times. Reservations through Reserve.Wyoming.Gov are required from May 1 through September 30, with sites available first-come, first-served during the off-season.
