About
Taylor Canyon Campground provides a rustic camping experience in the eastern Sierra Nevada, situated in the geologically fascinating terrain near Mono Lake and Glass Mountain. Located off Highway 120 East in an undeveloped area of Mono County, the campground is accessed via a dirt road called Adobe Ranch Road. At an elevation of 7,354 feet, the campground offers dispersed sites with basic amenities including pit toilets and picnic tables. This is primitive camping that requires self-sufficiency. Campers must bring all their own water and sun protection, as the high desert environment offers little shade. The campground is free and operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. The nearest town is Lee Vining, making this a convenient base for exploring the Mono Basin and surrounding public lands. The campground is closed during winter months due to seasonal weather conditions and road access limitations. The remote location and primitive setting make this an ideal destination for experienced campers seeking solitude and a true backcountry experience in the eastern Sierra.
