About
Antelope Reservoir Campground is situated among large ponderosa pines in the Maury Mountains area of Ochoco National Forest, providing a peaceful setting for forest visitors. The campground is located just above the day-use area and boat ramp for Antelope Flat Reservoir, with most sites within a 10-minute walk to the water's edge. While only a few campsites offer direct reservoir views, the forested setting creates a quiet atmosphere. The campground features 23 sites equipped with picnic tables and fire rings. Potable drinking water is available from a standing hand pump near the south end of the campground, and vault toilets serve the facility. No hookups are available. The adjacent day-use area sits right on the water's edge and includes picnic tables, fire rings, a vault bathroom, and a boat ramp for easy lake access. Antelope Flat Reservoir offers fishing and non-motorized or electric motor boating opportunities. Wildlife enthusiasts can occasionally spot large birds of prey nesting on the east side of the reservoir. The campground is accessed via Forest Service Road 17, approximately 30 miles southeast of Prineville. Sites operate on a first-come, first-served basis and typically see moderate use in early spring and holiday weekends.
Directions
From Prineville, travel 30 miles southeast on State Highway 380 to Forest Service Road 17 (Antelope Reservoir Junction). Turn right on Forest Service Road 17 and follow it approximately 12 miles to Forest Service Road 1700-600. Continue to Antelope Flat Campground and Day-Use Area.
