About

Biggs Springs Campground is a tiny, primitive campground nestled in the Ochoco National Forest near Lytle Prairie. This free campground offers a true escape from civilization, providing visitors with a quiet, scenic setting perfect for photography, wildlife viewing, and relaxation. The campground is located just across the meadow from Lytle Prairie and sits among the forest landscape of eastern Oregon. A short drive from the campground will bring visitors to the headwaters of the Wild and Scenic North Fork Crooked River, which offers excellent opportunities for trout fishing in a pristine mountain setting. There is a fresh water spring located at the campground; however, the water is not managed or treated by the Forest Service and should not be used for human consumption. Campers should bring their own drinking water. The campground is accessed via a series of forest roads from Prineville, requiring travel on Forest Service Roads 42, 4215, and 150. Each campsite features a picnic table and fire pit, and vault toilets are available. The campground operates under a 14-day stay limit and is open year-round, though winter access depends on snow conditions.
