About
Jasper Point Campground sits on a quiet loop three miles east of the main Prineville Reservoir State Park campground in the high desert of Central Oregon. The reservoir supports excellent year-round fishing for rainbow trout, largemouth and smallmouth bass, catfish, crappie, and crayfish. The campground's two-lane boat ramp and courtesy dock provide direct lake access. All 28 campsites feature electric and water hookups and are available first-come, first-served with no advance reservations. A rustic log cabin that accommodates three people is available by reservation. Facilities include flush toilets, hot showers, and an RV dump station. Sites 6 and 8 offer accessible design. A trailhead inside the camp leads into the adjacent State Wildlife area, and the 1¾-mile lakeside trail connects to the main campground. The campground is open seasonally from May 1 through September 30. Arriving early is recommended, especially on summer weekends. Campfire restrictions are often in place during summer months due to fire danger in Central Oregon's dry climate.
Directions
From Prineville, head south on Main Street which becomes Combs Flat Road. Turn left onto Juniper Canyon Road and continue approximately 15 miles to the reservoir. Follow signs to Jasper Point, located 3 miles east of the main campground.
