About

Double Cabin Campground offers an isolated retreat among the tall pines in the heart of the Maury Mountains. This free Forest Service campground provides a true backcountry experience far from busy civilization. The rustic setting includes vault toilets and individual sites with picnic tables and combination fire ring/grills. While there are few recreational activities directly at the campground, Double Cabin Pond is just a short walk away, offering fishing and wildlife viewing opportunities. Antelope Flat Reservoir, a popular fishing destination, is also a short drive from the campground. The surrounding forest provides opportunities for dispersed hiking and exploring the Maury Mountains. Campers should be prepared to bring their own drinking water as no potable water is available on site. The access roads are Forest Service roads, and while trailers can be accommodated, turnaround points can be narrow, so approach sites cautiously.

Directions

From Prineville: Travel 32 miles southeast on Highway 380. Turn south onto Forest Service Road 16 and continue approximately 12 miles. Turn north onto Forest Service Road 16-350 and continue to the campground, located less than one mile from the last junction.
