About
Stateline Cove Campground provides a unique dispersed camping experience along the sandy beaches of Flaming Gorge Reservoir, situated right on the Utah-Wyoming border within the Ashley National Forest. The campground's open, high-desert terrain offers expansive views and flexible camping options, allowing visitors to choose their own spot along the beach on a first-come, first-served basis. The campground features basic amenities including vault and portable toilets and some picnic tables, though availability of tables and fire rings is limited. The open environment is highly conducive to winds, so campers should come prepared for potentially breezy conditions. No potable water is available on-site, requiring visitors to bring their own supply. With direct reservoir access, Stateline Cove is ideal for water-based recreation including boating, fishing, swimming, kayaking, and paddleboarding. The location serves as an excellent base for exploring nearby attractions such as the Sheep Creek Geological Loop, Red Canyon Scenic Byway, and the world-class fishing on the Green River below Flaming Gorge Dam. Boat and watercraft rentals are available at nearby Lucerne Valley Marina.
Directions
From Manila, UT take UT-44 to UT/WY stateline on WY-530 and turn right on Lucerne Valley Road. Travel 2.5 miles to Stateline Cove Road. Follow dirt road to campground kiosk/entrance.
