Ashley National Forest Order 050115A1 regarding:  Closure of Fishing from Concrete Boat Ramps on Flaming Gorge Reservoir

About

Lucerne Campground is one of the premier camping destinations in Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area, positioned on the shore of Flaming Gorge Reservoir at 6,100 feet elevation. This large, recently renovated campground features nearly 140 campsites spread across seven loops (A-G) plus group sites. Sites in Loops A through D offer electric hookups (30-50 amp), picnic tables, campfire rings, and windbreaks. Loop D includes tent pads and shade cabanas. Loops E and F have shade cabanas, picnic tables, and campfire rings but no electric hookups. The campground is situated in a high desert landscape characterized by sagebrush and scattered trees, with minimal natural shade. Modern amenities include flush toilets, drinking water (April 1 through November 1), hot showers, and an on-site dump station. An entry booth operates 9am-7pm during the season. Campers enjoy convenient access to Flaming Gorge Reservoir for fishing, boating, water skiing, canoeing, and swimming. Adjacent Lucerne Marina provides boat rentals, fuel, slips, fishing licenses, bait, groceries, a boat ramp, and fish cleaning station. Most sites accommodate a boat trailer and tow vehicle, with additional dedicated trailer parking available. Many campsites offer views of the reservoir and surrounding mountains. The area experiences typical high desert weather with warm days and cool nights.
