About

Agnew Horse Camp is located in Reds Meadow Valley in the Inyo National Forest, just west of Mammoth Lakes, California. This specialized equestrian campground sits in a lodgepole pine forest at 8,400 feet elevation, adjacent to creeks and surrounded by high Sierra peaks. The campground provides horse campers with direct access to some of the most spectacular wilderness in the Sierra Nevada, including the nearby Ansel Adams Wilderness and Pacific Crest Trail. The campground features equestrian sites with corrals and is designed specifically for horse camping. Each site includes bear-proof food lockers, which are required due to high bear activity in the area. Within a few miles, riders can access the High Trail, Shadow Creek Trail, and River Trail. Devils Postpile National Monument is nearby, offering additional hiking and photographic opportunities. Reds Meadow Pack Station and Resort, located down the road, provides a general store and cafe. The area offers excellent trout fishing in nearby lakes and the North Fork of the San Joaquin River. Access is via the narrow, single-lane Reds Meadow Road, and an amenity fee applies for driving into Reds Meadow Valley.
