About

The Crescent Lake Guard Station is a charming historic cabin built in the early 1930s, perched atop a small hill overlooking the brilliant blue-green waters of Crescent Lake. Managed by the Crescent Ranger District, this one-bedroom, one-bath rental sits in an open ponderosa pine stand on the lake's eastern shore. The approximately 670-square-foot cabin features a full kitchen with refrigerator, stove, and sink, plus a furnished living room with a fold-out sofa bed, original buffet, desk, and gas wood stove heater. The bedroom has a full bed, and the bathroom includes a claw-foot tub, toilet, and pedestal sink. Potable water is available from a hand pump, and a vault toilet is also on site. Outside, guests can enjoy a picnic table, fire grill, and horseshoe pit. Guests must bring their own linens, sleeping bags, dish soap, toiletries, and garbage bags. Crescent Lake lies in a naturally glaciated basin behind a moraine dam, just east of the Cascade Range summit. A boat launch is nearby, and the Crescent Lake Resort is within walking distance, offering food, fishing supplies, and boat rentals. The Diamond Peak Wilderness trail is accessible nearby, and the area features several other popular recreation lakes including Odell Lake, Waldo Lake, and Gold Lake.
