About

Goose Island Group Sites consists of two BLM group campgrounds situated along the Colorado River with cottonwood trees providing shade and spectacular views of the red rock cliffs of Arches National Park. The sites are ideal for groups wanting proximity to Moab's amenities while enjoying riverside camping in a scenic desert setting. Site A accommodates up to 25 people, while Site B can host up to 40 people. The campground is located just 10 minutes from Arches National Park and five minutes from downtown Moab, making it an excellent base for exploring the area's outdoor recreation opportunities. A paved bicycle trail from the campground leads to Arches National Park, the Bar M Mountain Bike Trailhead, and Moab. The SR 128 river corridor offers red rock canyons, hiking and equestrian trails, river access, and scenic vistas. Canyonlands National Park and Dead Horse Point State Park are within a half-hour drive. Each group site includes fire grates, picnic tables, vault toilets, and shade shelters. The campground does not provide water, dump stations, or electric hookups, so groups must come prepared with their own water and be self-sufficient. Reservations are available through Recreation.gov, with the sites located at the far end of the Goose Island campground loop past the individual campsites.

Directions

From Moab, drive north on Highway 191 to the junction of State Route 128. Drive two miles on SR 128 to the entrance to Goose Island campground. The group sites are at the far end of the campground.
