Open mid-May through mid-October. Sites are available through Recreation.gov or on a first-come, first-served basis. Located in the 2016 Pioneer Fire burn scar; use caution around hazard trees. The hand water pump is tested monthly and may be shut off if contamination is detected.

About
Edna Creek Campground is nestled in a scenic Ponderosa pine forest along Idaho's Ponderosa Pine Scenic Byway (Highway 21) at an elevation of 5,700 feet. Located 56 miles northeast of Boise and just 11-18 miles north of historic Idaho City, the campground offers 11 sites in an open area with shade. Each site features a picnic table and fire ring, with graveled parking spurs. Two vault toilets and a hand-operated water pump serve the campground. Crooked River runs near the site, providing opportunities for whitefish and rainbow trout fishing. The surrounding area offers numerous trails for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and ATV use. In winter, the region transforms into a popular destination for backcountry skiing and snowmobiling. The campground sits within the 2016 Pioneer Fire burn scar, so the surrounding landscape includes many burned and downed trees. Campers should exercise caution around hazard trees. Due to the campground's proximity to Highway 21, some road noise is expected. Trash service is not provided; campers must pack out all garbage.
Directions
From Idaho City, drive north on Highway 21 for about 18.5 miles. Edna Creek Campground is on the right at the start of FS Road 384, at milepost 56.8.
