About
Bailey Cove Campground sits on the McCloud Arm of Shasta Lake within the Shasta-Trinity National Forest, about 15 miles north of Redding off I-5. The campground has 7 sites total: 5 single sites ($28/night) and 2 double sites ($56/night). Each site is equipped with a tent pad, picnic table, raised fire ring, bear box, and paved parking spur. Brick pavers enhance accessibility throughout the facility. Flush toilets and potable water are available on site. The adjacent Bailey Cove boat ramp provides convenient lake access, making this a popular destination when lake levels are high. Boat rentals are available nearby. The 3-mile Bailey Cove Trail hugs the shoreline and is open to hikers and mountain bikers. Lake Shasta offers excellent fishing opportunities with a variety of species. Osprey nests are commonly seen in the surrounding area. The nearby Lake Shasta Caverns offer daily tours, and Hirz Mountain Lookout provides panoramic views of Mount Shasta and Mount Lassen.
Directions
From I-5, take exit 695 (O'Brien/Shasta Caverns). Turn right at the end of the off-ramp. Continue along Shasta Caverns Road for 0.4 miles to the Bailey Cove junction on the right. Turn right and follow the road about 0.6 miles to the campground.
