Oak Grove Campground
Permanently closed. The campground was decommissioned in 2024 with restroom buildings removed. The site is no longer available for camping.
About
Oak Grove Campground was a recreation site in the Shasta Lake Ranger District of the Shasta-Trinity National Forest in Shasta County, California. The campground has been closed for many years and is no longer available for public use. In 2024, the U.S. Forest Service formally decommissioned the site, demolishing the two remaining restroom buildings. The concrete foundations and septic systems were left in place. The decommissioning project was approved in April 2024 and implemented in May 2024. Campers seeking alternatives should explore other developed campgrounds in the Shasta Lake area or the broader Shasta-Trinity National Forest.
Directions
From Interstate 15, take Highway 79 East. The campground is on the north side of the highway, across from the fire station. From Temecula, take State Route 79 south for 24.1 miles and turn left at the campground sign.
