About
Yatesville Lake State Park opened in 1999 and features one of eastern Kentucky's premier camping destinations. The campground offers 47 sites catering to diverse camping styles, from RV campers seeking full amenities to backpackers wanting remote, secluded experiences. The 27 standard electric sites provide water and electric hookups with multiple amp options (15, 20, 30, 50). Four walk-in primitive tent sites offer a more rustic experience, while 16 boat-in sites provide true backcountry solitude accessible only by water or trail. The park surrounds a 2,300-acre lake ideal for fishing, boating, jet skiing, kayaking, and water skiing. A full-service marina offers pontoon and jon boat rentals, fuel, and supplies. Beyond water recreation, the park features an 18-hole championship golf course and hiking trails. The centrally located bathhouse provides hot showers, restrooms, and laundry facilities, while a playground keeps younger campers entertained. Campers should note that burn bans may be in effect seasonally, and out-of-state firewood is prohibited. Water availability is not guaranteed during freezing months. The campground accommodates up to 8 occupants per site with a maximum of 2 camping units. Reservations can be made up to 12 months in advance through the Kentucky State Parks reservation system.
