About
Jenny Wiley State Resort Park campground sits within a 1,651-acre mountain resort on the shores of 1,100-acre Dewey Lake in Floyd County, Kentucky. The campground offers 118 sites with electric and water hookups, accommodating RVs and tent campers. All sites are back-in, with driveway lengths ranging from 32 to 92 feet, making it accessible for larger rigs. Two central service buildings provide restrooms with flush toilets and hot showers. A camp store, dump station, playgrounds, and laundry facilities serve campers. The park is named for Virginia "Jenny" Wiley, a pioneer woman who was taken captive in 1789 and escaped after 11 months. Today, visitors can explore over 13 miles of hiking trails that wind through the wilderness, including trails marking Wiley's escape route. Dewey Lake offers excellent fishing for largemouth bass, hybrid striped bass, bluegill, catfish, and crappie. The marina features 199 boat slips, three launching ramps, and pontoon boat rentals. Additional recreation includes an 18-hole disc golf course, the seasonal Jenny Wiley Theatre, and nearby Stonecrest Golf Course. The park's lodge and dining facilities provide additional amenities for visitors. Reservations are made through the Kentucky State Parks reservation system up to 12 months in advance. Golf carts are permitted in the campground with a $25 weekly or $100 annual permit. Pets are allowed on leash. The campground enforces an 11:00 p.m. quiet time, 1:00 p.m. checkout, and prohibits alcoholic beverages, firearms, and fireworks. Maximum occupancy is 8 people per site with no more than two units.
