About
Grayson Lake State Park encompasses 1,512 acres of scenic lake surrounded by sheer sandstone canyons and gentle rolling slopes in northeastern Kentucky. This land was historically a favorite camping area for Shawnee and Cherokee Indians. The park features a spacious 71-site campground with electric hookups, accommodating both RVs and tents year-round. The campground includes two central service buildings equipped with restrooms, hot showers, and laundry facilities. All sites have electric hookups, and a dump station is available. Driveway lengths range from 39 to 112 feet, with most sites being back-in and at least one pull-through site available. Each campsite can accommodate up to 8 people and a maximum of two units (one RV plus one tent, or two tents). Beyond camping, the park offers an 18-hole golf course that encircles the lake, multiple hiking trails including the Beech Hemlock Trail and Lick Falls Trail, boat ramps, fishing, and various recreational activities. The campground operates on reservations during peak seasons and first-come, first-served during winter months. Golf carts are permitted in the campground with a paid permit, except for guests with disabilities who may use them without charge.
