Wynoochee Lake Shore Trailhead - Coho Campground
This is a day-use trailhead, not a campground. No overnight camping is available at the trailhead. Parking and trail access are available when Coho Campground is open, typically mid-May through early October. For camping, reserve a site at adjacent Coho Campground via Recreation.gov.

About
Wynoochee Lake Shore Trailhead provides access to the Wynoochee Lake Shore Trail #878 in Olympic National Forest's Quinault Area. This is a day-use trailhead, not a campground. The trailhead is located within Coho Campground on the west shore of Wynoochee Lake, surrounded by evergreen conifers and hardwoods. Parking is available at the walk-in parking lot or boat launch parking lot inside Coho Campground. While the trailhead itself does not have potable water, flush toilets and drinking water are accessible at Coho Campground when it is open during the summer season (typically mid-May through early October). For overnight camping, visitors should reserve sites at Coho Campground through Recreation.gov. The campground offers standard campsites, walk-in tent sites, a group site, and three yurts overlooking the lake. No fees are required to access the trailhead itself.
Directions
From Montesano, WA, head north on Wynoochee Valley Road (1 mile west of Montesano off Route 12). Drive 35 miles on Wynoochee Valley Road (Forest Service Road 22) to a major intersection, turn left to stay on FS Road 22, then turn right on Forest Service Road 2294 and drive about one mile to Coho Campground. The trailhead parking is at the walk-in or boat launch lots inside the campground.
