About

Satsop Center Campground occupies the grounds of a historic Forest Service work center southeast of Wynoochee Lake, about 36 miles north of Montesano, Washington. The site dates back to 1927 when the Forest Service established operations here for timber sales. Today it serves as a campground offering 19 sites including 7 RV sites with full hookups, walk-in tent sites, and group camping areas, all set within a second-growth forest of evergreen conifers and hardwoods. The campground provides convenient access to Wynoochee Lake recreation, including the Wynoochee Lake Shore Trail #878, boating, and swimming. Other nearby hiking destinations include Spoon Creek Falls, Maidenhair Falls, and Church Creek Trail #871. Big Creek, a small stream, runs adjacent to the campground. The area offers opportunities for fishing, hunting, and mountain biking. The facility is managed by D5 Recreation, a local concessionaire that also operates the neighboring Coho Campground. Reservations are available through Recreation.gov. There are no commercial services at Wynoochee Lake, so campers should arrive prepared with supplies.
