About
Tucked deep in the Quinault Rain Forest at the end of Graves Creek Road, Graves Creek Campground provides an immersive temperate rainforest camping experience. The 30 primitive sites are nestled among towering old-growth trees and mossy undergrowth, with Graves Creek providing a soothing backdrop. This is one of Olympic National Park's more remote vehicle-accessible campgrounds, attracting visitors seeking solitude and a true wilderness feel. The campground operates year-round on a first-come, first-served basis with self-registration at the site. Amenities are basic: vault toilets, fire grates at each site, picnic tables, bear-proof food storage lockers, and trash receptacles. There is no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. Due to the narrow, winding 6-mile gravel road, RVs and trailers are prohibited regardless of road status. Graves Creek serves as a popular trailhead for the East Fork Quinault Trail leading to Enchanted Valley, one of Olympic's most scenic backcountry destinations. Bear activity is common in this area, and proper food storage is essential.
Directions
From Highway 101, take the Lake Quinault exit and follow North Shore Road east along Lake Quinault. Continue onto Graves Creek Road for approximately 6 miles to the campground at road's end. South Shore Road cannot currently be used to access this area due to a separate washout.
