About

Falls Creek Campground occupies a scenic location on the south shore of glacially carved Lake Quinault, nestled between Falls Creek and the temperate rainforest of Olympic National Forest. The campground features 21 standard sites accommodating tents, trailers, and RVs up to 16 feet, plus 10 walk-in tent sites. A dense overstory of Sitka spruce, Douglas fir, western hemlock, and western red cedar provides shade, while the forest floor hosts moss, ferns, and other rainforest plants. The forested slopes of Olympic National Park create a scenic backdrop across the lake. The area offers excellent outdoor recreation with 10 miles of hiking trails accessible from the campground, including the Quinault National Recreation Trail System, Rainforest Nature Loop, and paths to nearby waterfalls. Lake Quinault is managed by the Quinault Indian Nation, and fishing or boating requires permits available through local merchants. Lake Quinault Lodge, a short walk along the shore, offers boat and kayak rentals plus interpretive tours. The campground includes a day-use area with a picnic shelter and four lakeside picnic sites.
