About
Wranglers Campground is the dedicated equestrian facility within Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area, offering year-round camping for horseback riders and wagon driving enthusiasts. The campground provides 198 sites including basic tent camping, electric-only sites with 30 or 50-amp service, and full-hookup sites with electric, water, and sewer connections. Twelve rustic cabins accommodate 4-8 guests for those preferring a roof overhead. The campground serves as a basecamp for exploring over 100 miles of designated horse trails winding through the 170,000-acre recreation area. Horse stalls are available for rent, and all horses must have a current equine infectious anemia test and Kentucky veterinary health certificate. Horses have right-of-way throughout the campground, and all overnight campers bringing horses must stay at Wranglers. Seasonal amenities include guided trail rides through riding stables (April-October) and farrier/blacksmith services on weekends (April-November). The campground hosts an annual rodeo event each July. Sites accommodate large motorhomes and horse trailers, with modern restroom facilities including flush toilets and showers available on-site.
