About

Wranglers Campground at Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area is Kentucky's premier equestrian camping destination, operating year-round for horseback riding and wagon driving enthusiasts. The facility features 198 well-defined campsites designed to accommodate large motor homes and horse trailers, with options ranging from basic primitive sites ($16/night) to full hookup sites with 50 AMP electric, water, and sewer ($42/night). Twelve rustic cabins are also available, sleeping either 4 or 8 guests. The campground provides access to 100 miles of scenic horse trails throughout Land Between the Lakes, with horses having right-of-way throughout the facility. Modern amenities include flush toilets, hot showers, an activity court, and horse stalls ($10/night). Farrier and blacksmith services are available on weekends from April through November, and guided trail rides operate from April through October. All horses must have current equine infectious anemia (EIA) test documentation and veterinary health certificates per Kentucky state law. Reservations are required between 2 days and 6 months in advance and can be made online or by calling the reservation center. Check-in is 4:30 p.m. and check-out is 3:30 p.m. All overnight campers bringing horses must camp at Wranglers Campground, making it the designated equestrian camping area for the entire recreation area.
