About

Colson Hollow Group Site offers 25 acres of maintained fields for group camping along Kentucky Lake in the southern section of Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. The facility is designed for organized groups, family reunions, scout troops, and other large gatherings, accommodating between 10 and 200 campers. The site provides basic amenities including an accessible vault toilet building and a refuse container. Additional sanitary facilities can be requested for an extra fee. No potable water is available on-site, so groups must bring their own water supply. The primitive setting allows for flexible campsite arrangements across the open fields. A permit and reservation are required to use Colson Hollow. Reservations can be made through the LBL reservation system or by calling the office. Important: the access road includes a creek crossing that may become impassable during heavy rain, requiring evacuation if conditions deteriorate.
