About

Energy Lake Campground occupies a peaceful wooded setting alongside an inland lake created by an earthen dam separating it from Lake Barkley. The campground offers 35 well-defined campsites, 33 of which feature electrical hookups (30 or 50 amp), plus 13 primitive cabins that sleep up to 8 guests with heating/AC, a full bed, four bunk beds, and a covered porch with picnic table and fire ring. Campers have exclusive access to a private swimming beach and designated swim area. The campground also features a playground, activity field, shower building, flush restrooms, and dump station. Canoe and kayak rentals are available mid-May through mid-October. Hiking trails wind through the area, and boat ramps at the adjacent Energy Dam Day Use Area (less than a quarter mile away) provide launching access to both Energy Lake and Lake Barkley. The campground operates year-round, with all sites available March through November and loops A and B remaining open December through February. Reservations can be made 2 days to 6 months in advance through the LBL website or by phone.
